This introductory course will give a basic understanding of pipelines.

The participants will get an overview of pipeline applications, ranging from transport of un-processed hydrocarbons from subsea wells to platforms, via trunk lines for oil/gas, and further to distribution networks that is bringing gas to consumers and industrial users. The course starts with a web-primer which is developed in close cooperation with a major oil company.

  • Give an overview of pipeline technology
  • Provide a technical basis for all pipeline disciplines
  • Form a common basis for the pipeline design course.
